IN OTHERS' SHOES - PROJECT TIMELINE

29 March 2017 – Project Application deadline

11 August 2017 – Expected date to hear if funding bid has been successful

20 - 24 November 2017 – School Coordinators Project Planning Event in Bobingen, Germany
Project coordinators face-to-face meeting to discuss project aims, outputs, agree on project plan, timeline and develop a shared understanding and focus.

January to March 2018 – Project Activities Begin
Teachers will carry out a baseline attitudinal and skills survey with students before project activities start.
Students will be made aware of the project and begin to share "getting to know you" activities and upload onto the project website.

22-26 January 2018 - Global Teachers Award Level 1 and Philosophy for Children Level 1 Training in UK
Two members of staff from each school will meet together, plan project activities, participate in training for the

Global Teachers Award, Philosophy for Children,   take part in a Faith Trail and visit schools in Derby for discussions and observations.

April - June 2018 - Project Work in Schools

Teachers and students will carry out a minimum of 2 project activities in their own schools and submit to the website. This could include film making, podcasts, PowerPoint presentations, drama, storytelling,  Skype calls, depending on school facilities, staff expertise, time available, etc.
Global Education Derby (GED) will start to develop a Global Skills Passport, providing recognition for the student activities. 
This will be available for schools to use via the website. GED will support school activities and teacher communication, wherever possible, with provision of resources, etc.

May 2018 –  Global Teacher Award Reflection Activity
Teachers will meet for 3 days in UK to complete Philosophy for Children and Global Teachers Award requirements  and be introduced to requirements for Global School Award accreditation and methodologies, such as Philosophy for Children.  
Plan activities for students to take part in during the next academic year.


September 2018 - April 2019 - Further Project Activities and Global School Award
Students will repeat baseline survey to seek to measure attitudinal change, increase in confidence, skills, etc.
Teachers will refine successful project activities and continue working in partnership with partner schools.
Schools will consider how the learning from the project can be embedded in the curriculum, using Global School Award as an overall framework. Teachers will build a portfolio of evidence to support Global School Award accreditation.

21-24 January 2019 - Coordinators Resource Development Meeting in Italy
School coordinators meet to select best activities for Global Skills Passport resource and agree on common format. Teachers will also submit Global School Award portfolios for accreditation.
Global Education Derby will ensure that activities are published on website and that Global Teachers Award and Global School Award applications are processed and completed.

April 2019 - September 2019 - Sharing the Learning
Each project partner disseminates learning and resources produced through locally-based activities, national conferences, websites, social media and partner organisations/schools.
